In the middle of the pitch, D. BAGGIO acts as the central link to connect the defensive unit with the attack. Di CHIARA and BENARRIVO operate as a double pivot to shield the defense and win the second ball. To add width and extra numbers, PIN and SENSINI occupy the wide areas, acting as attacking midfielders who can push high to support the front line. This formation allows the team to compress the midfield and control the tempo of the game.

The attacking unit relies on a partnership of two forwards, ASPRILLA and G. ZOLA. G. ZOLA uses his technical ability and dribbling to pull defenders out of position and create chances in tight spaces. ASPRILLA works alongside him to make runs in behind and pin the last defender.
