The team relies on a central core to disrupt play and create chances through direct passing and quick movement in the middle third.

Boyko stands between the posts to command his area and organize the back line. The defensive unit operates as a flat back four with Fedetskiy acting as the right back to provide stability. Léo Matos plays at left back, capable of pushing forward to support the play. In the center, Douglas and Cheberyachko hold the line, with Douglas using his aerial strength to defend set pieces while Cheberyachko covers the space behind. This unit works together to squeeze the space between the lines and keep the opposition away from the goal.

The midfield is the engine of the Dnipro-1 formation, utilizing a three-man central block with Rotan playing as an attacking ten behind the striker. Fedorchuk and Kankava act as a double pivot to shield the defense and win the second ball in central areas. Matheus and Konoplyanka operate in the half-spaces, with Matheus driving forward with the ball to link the defensive and attacking lines. This midfield group is tasked to press in a mid-block and ensure the team stays compact when the opponent has possession.

In the final third, Kalinic acts as a lone striker to lead the line. He works to hold up the ball and link up with the oncoming midfielders. The team uses inverted wingers and midfielders to create numerical superiority in the middle, allowing players like Konoplyanka to find space between the lines. When the team wins the ball, they look to hit in behind on the transition, using quick passes to find Kalinic or late runs from the midfield.

This formation offers the advantage of being very hard to break down due to the density in the middle of the pitch. The combination of a strong double pivot and a narrow midfield ensures the opposition struggles to play through the center. Dnipro-1 can also use the movement of Rotan to create sudden attacking threats, often catching opponents out of position during transitions.
