Starting Lineup

Nevistic · RPG · Galesic · MPV · Misic · Ljubicic · Villar · Vidovic · Stojkovic · Beljo · Radeljic

Dinamo relies on a heavy high press and quick transitions within a 5-2-3 formation. This lineup aims to win the ball high up the pitch and hit the opposition in behind before they can get organized. The system is built to squeeze the space in the middle and use wide players to stretch the defense during attacks.

Nevistic plays between the posts to command his area. In front of him, Misic holds the center of a back five to act as the primary stopper. Galesic and Radeljic sit on either side of Misic as wide centre-backs, ready to step up into midfield or cover the space left by the wing backs. RPG and MPV operate as attacking wing backs, pushing high to provide width and delivering crosses into the box. The defensive unit stays compact to deny the turn to any advancing attackers.

The midfield consists of a two man unit with Villar and Ljubicic working to control the center of the park. Villar and Ljubicic act as the engine room, looking to win the second ball and quickly move the play forward. They connect the defensive line to the front three by playing short from the back and finding the attackers in space. When the team loses possession, they must immediately press to stop the opposition from playing through the lines.

Dinamo utilizes three attackers across the front to pin the opposition back. Beljo acts as the lone striker, looking to hold up the ball and find the feet of his teammates. Stojkovic and Vidovic play as wide wingers who cut inside to create goal scoring chances. They work in combinations with the wing backs, often looking to isolate defenders in one on one situations. The front three press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition defense.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages through its ability to create wide overloads when RPG and MPV push forward. The team can also implement a coordinated press in waves, using the front three and the two midfielders to overwhelm the opponent. Having three central defenders allows Dinamo to remain defensively solid while still being able to transition at pace.

The 5-2-3 formation provides Dinamo with a way to control the wings and press aggressively. It is best suited for matches against teams that play with a high defensive line or struggle to play out from the back.
