Besiktas aim to play a high press and vertical football using a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and attack the opposition quickly through the middle and wide areas. The team looks to use their front three to stretch the defence and create chances through direct movement.

Mert Ersin guards the goal while the defensive unit sits behind a mid-block. Udokhai and Paulista form the central defensive pair, with Udokhai providing coverage and Paulista acting as a ball playing defender. Jurasek plays as an attacking left back to provide width, while Walker operates on the right to help secure the flank. The back four works together to maintain a compact line and defend zonally when the opponent has possession.

The midfield consists of a three-man midfield with a carrier and an attacking ten behind the striker. Orkun or Gedson Fernandes drives forward with the ball from the left, while Hadzi or Kartal manages the right side to help recycle possession. Rafa plays in the hole as an attacking ten to connect the defensive and attacking lines, often making late runs into the box. This group works to squeeze the space in the middle and win the second ball to restart attacks.

In the final third, Besiktas uses three attackers across the front to pressure the opponent. Abraham acts as a pressing centre-forward to pin the last defender, while Joao cuts inside from the left and Arroyo stays wide on the right to provide width. The team builds the attack by playing through the lines or using the wingers to isolate a one-on-one wide. When moving in transition, the players look to hit in behind on the transition to catch the defence out of position.

One major advantage for Besiktas is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to force a long ball from the opponent. The midfield group creates numerical superiority in the center, which allows Rafa to find space between the lines. Another strength is the speed of transition when the ball is won back, allowing the wingers to attack the space behind the full backs.

This 4-3-3 formation is a high energy system designed to dominate territory. It is best suited for matches where the team needs to force the opponent into mistakes through intense pressure.
