Beside him, DAVIDS and SEEDORF act as two energetic midfielders who drive forward with the ball and press aggressively to win it back. LITMANEN operates as the attacking ten behind the striker, finding pockets of space to connect the midfield and the attack.

The front line uses three attackers to stretch the defense wide and occupy the half spaces. OVERMARS plays as a winger on the left who loves to cut inside, while F. GEORGE provides width on the right. R. DE BOER leads the line as a central striker to hold up the ball and link play. The attackers work in combination to make runs in behind the defensive line and create chances through quick one-two passes.

This Ajax lineup provides significant tactical advantages through numerical superiority in the central areas.
