Bari aims to play a vertical style of football with a direct focus on quick transitions. This tactical identity is built around a 3-5-2 formation. The team looks to use the width of the pitch before hitting the opposition quickly through the middle or the flanks.

Faríñez stands between the posts to start the buildup. The back line works as a narrow defensive block consisting of three central defenders. Bastoni acts as a ball playing defender to help play out from the back, while Palmer-Brown and Holgate cover the space behind him. Bastoni is known for his passing range and ability to step up into midfield. The trio must hold the line and communicate to catch opponents offside.

A three man midfield provides the engine for Bari. Adams operates as a single pivot to shield the defence and pick up runners. Bissouma and Foden work as inverted eights to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Bissouma uses his high pressing intensity to win it back high up the pitch, while Foden is capable of carrying the ball forward into the final third. They work to compress the midfield and ensure the team remains compact when defending.

The front line uses two forwards in a partnership to stretch the defence. Niane and Diaz act as the main threats, often looking to hit in behind on the transition. Atakayi and Sessegnon play as wide midfielders who provide width and overlap the winger positions. Atakayi and Sessegnon push high to pin the last defender and deliver crosses. This creates many opportunities for Niane and Diaz to attack the near post or the far post in combination.

Bari offers several tactical advantages through this lineup. The presence of Bissouma and Foden allows the team to win the second ball and immediately transition. The wide midfielders Atakayi and Sessegnon create wide overloads against a back four. This setup also provides great compactness when defending in a mid block, making it hard for opponents to play through the lines.

This 3-5-2 formation is designed to punish teams that leave space behind their defensive line. It is best suited for matches against possession based teams that commit many players forward.
