This unit must be ready to shift quickly to cover the wide areas left open by the aggressive lineup.

The attack is built around four players who push high to pin the last defender. Højlund and Cunha work as a strike partnership in the center, with Højlund looking to find the feet of the striker and Cunha looking to run in behind. Garnacho and B. Fernandes occupy the wide areas as inverted wingers who cut inside to create goal scoring chances. This formation allows Man Utd to attack in combinations and create overloads in the half spaces. The forwards press the opposition back line hard to force a long ball and then recycle possession quickly.
