Starting Lineup

Debrecen operates with a high press and a heavy focus on direct attacking play. This 2-4-4 formation is built to overwhelm the opponent in the final third and win the ball back quickly. The lineup focuses on verticality to catch the opposition out of position through constant pressure and rapid transitions.

Pálfi stays between the posts to manage the space behind the defense. The defensive unit uses a narrow back two consisting of Lang and Maximillián. These two central defenders must be ready to step up to trigger the press or cover wide areas when the team is stretched. They function as a high line to keep the team compact, requiring them to win the second ball and intercept long balls played toward the opposition strikers.

In the center of the pitch, Ferenci and Kocsis act as a double pivot to control the middle. Ferenci works to shield the defense and disrupt play, while Kocsis drives forward with the ball to connect the defensive line to the attack. Ahead of them, Youga and Szécsi play in the half spaces as two attacking tens. Youga operates on the right to provide service, while Szécsi moves into central areas to link play and arrive late into the box. This midfield unit is designed to compress the midfield and win the ball high up the pitch.

The attacking line is aggressive with four players pushing forward. Szűcs and Szuhodovszky act as wide wingers who stay high to stretch the defense. Szűcs looks to cut inside to create shooting lanes, while Szuhodovszky stays wide to deliver crosses. In the center, Domingues and Bárány play as a two-man strike partnership. They work in combinations to hold up the ball and make runs in behind the opposition defenders. The goal for Debrecen is to isolate wide players in one on one situations and hit in behind on the transition.
