Ferencváros Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Dibusz · Makreckis · Cisse · Gartenmann · Ötvös · Cadu · Keita · Tóth · Levi · Varga · ĆirkovićFerencváros aims to control games through high pressing and rapid offensive transitions, utilizing a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup is built to stretch the opposition by spreading wide across the pitch and using heavy verticality to break the lines. The team looks to win the ball high up the pitch to catch opponents out of position.
Dibusz starts in goal to organize the defensive unit. The back line functions as a back three with Cisse acting as the central defender to sweep behind a high line. Gartenmann plays as the right centre back while Ötvös operates as the left centre back. This defensive unit focuses on staying compact to prevent through balls and uses their physical presence to win the second ball.
The midfield operates as a central pairing with Cadu and Makreckis acting as a double pivot to shield the defense. Cadu works to sit deep and recycle possession, while Makreckis seeks to intercept passes and drive forward with the ball. Keita and Tóth play as the two wide midfielders, pushing high to support the attack. They connect the defensive and attacking lines by finding space in the half spaces and covering the flanks when the team defends in a mid-block.
Up front, Ferencváros employs three attackers to pin the last defender. Varga acts as the central striker to hold up the ball and find the feet of his teammates. On the wings, Ćirković and Levi play as wide attackers who look to cut inside and create goal scoring chances. This front line works together to press the opposition back line from the front, creating space for runs in behind.
One major advantage for Ferencváros is the ability to create wide overloads when the midfielders push high to support the wingers. The formation also allows for a strong ability to press high in coordinated waves, forcing the opposition into errors. This setup provides the team with speed of transition when they win the ball back in the middle third.
This 3-4-3 formation relies on intense pressing and quick ball movement to dominate games. It is best suited for facing teams that play with a high line or struggle to handle verticality in the wide areas.
