Boca focuses on a direct and high pressing identity using a 5-2-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and quickly transition into dangerous attacking situations. By utilizing three central defenders, the team seeks to maintain control and provide a strong foundation to launch attacks.

Marchesin operates between the posts to command the penalty area. The defensive unit functions as a back five with Paredes acting as the central anchor to sweep behind the line and win headers. Costa and Battaglia sit on either side of him to provide zonal coverage and defend the central zone. On the flanks, Blondel and Blanco play as attacking wing backs who are tasked to push high and provide width, while also dropping back to form a narrow defensive block when the team sits deep.

A two man midfield serves as the engine room for Boca. Delgado and Zenón operate as a double pivot to control the center of the park. Delgado works to shield the defense and recycle possession, while Zenón acts as the carrier to drive forward with the ball. This pair must work closely to compress the midfield and ensure they do not get bypassed by opposition passing. They connect the back five to the front three by finding the feet of the attackers or playing through the lines.

The attacking front three creates constant pressure on the opposition back line. Merentiel leads the line as a pressing centre forward who works to harass defenders and hold up the ball. Velasco and Aguirre play as wide wingers who look to cut inside to create goalscoring opportunities. These players use their movement to pull defenders out of position and create space for the wing backs to overlap. The attack relies on quick combinations and running in behind to catch the defense on the transition.

This formation offers clear tactical advantages through its ability to create wide overloads. When Blondel and Blanco push forward, they combine with Aguirre and Velasco to overwhelm the opponent's flanks. The team also benefits from extreme compactness when defending in a low block, making it very difficult for opponents to find space between the lines.
