Starting Lineup

Huracán operates with a 4-5-1 formation to maintain a defensive identity centered on being hard to break down. This lineup is built to play a counter attacking style, focusing on staying compact to deny space to the opponent. By keeping the lines close together, the team looks to win the ball back in the middle third and move quickly toward the opposition goal.

Galíndez guards the goal as the goalkeeper in a lineup that relies on a flat back four. Paz and Nervo form the central defensive pair, with Paz often acting as a covering defender while Nervo stays goal side to mark the striker. On the flanks, Ibáñez and Guidara act as the wide defenders. Ibáñez works to track back and stop wide entries, while Guidara stays disciplined to ensure the defensive unit does not get stretched. The back four works as a single unit to hold the line and squeeze the space.

The midfield is the engine of this Huracán side, utilizing a double pivot consisting of Pérez and Gil. Pérez sits deep to shield the defense and receives the ball to play out from the back, while Gil works to intercept passes and win the second ball. Ahead of them, Miljevic, Urzi, and Bisanz occupy the central and half spaces. Miljevic acts as the carrier to drive the ball forward, while Urzi and Bisanz push up to connect the defensive and attacking lines. This group allows the team to recycle possession and maintain control over the central areas of the pitch.

Giménez serves as the lone striker, playing as a pressing center forward to disrupt the opposition build up. He often has to hold up the ball to allow the midfielders to move up the pitch. When the team breaks quickly, Urzi and Bisanz look to make runs in behind the defense to support him. The attacking movement is designed to create quick combinations, with the aim of delivering early crosses or playing through the lines to find Giménez in dangerous positions.

The tactical advantages of this formation include the density in the middle of the park, which provides numerical superiority in midfield. This makes it difficult for opponents to find passing lanes between the lines. Additionally, the ability to press in a mid block allows the team to win the ball high up the pitch once a trigger is met.
