Zaytdrift (C) acts as the foundation in goal, commanding the area and organizing the defensive unit. The back line operates as a flat back four with Adam at right back and Tungs at left back. Both full backs are tasked to hold their position to ensure the team does not get caught on the break. In the center, Taco and Ganymede form the heart of the defense, with Taco acting as a covering defender while Ganymede works to win the header and clear the lines. They work together to maintain a disciplined line and prevent runners from getting behind.

The midfield relies on a central pairing of Zyron and Hedge to control the middle of the pitch. Zyron works to shield the defense and recycle possession, while Hedge is able to carry the ball forward to link the lines. On the flanks, Simo and Oreo provide the necessary width. Simo stays wide on the left to stretch the pitch, while Oreo works to track back and support the defense when the opposition has the ball. This midfield unit works to squeeze the space in the center and press in a mid-block to win the ball back.

In the attacking phase, Italy utilizes two forwards in a partnership consisting of Resn and Halo. Resn plays as a pressing centre-forward to disrupt the opposition build up, while Halo works to find space and make runs in behind the defense. The team attacks in combinations, using the wide players to provide service. Simo and Oreo look to deliver crosses into the box to find the strikers. This duo creates constant tension by forcing the opposition centre-backs to stay deep.

A major tactical advantage of this formation is the ability to maintain compactness when defending, making it very difficult for opponents to play through the middle. The 4-4-2 also allows for quick transitions, as the two strikers can immediately target the space left by a high defensive line. This setup creates a reliable balance between defensive solidity and the ability to hit teams on the break.
