Al-Nassr seeks to control the ball and press high up the pitch using a 2-5-3 formation. This lineup is built to dominate the center of the pitch and create constant pressure on the opposition defense. Ospina starts in goal to manage the space behind the back line. Alex and Aymeric act as the two central defenders in a very high line, requiring them to be fast to cover any long balls played into the space behind them. Because there are only two defenders, they must be ready to defend man-to-man or step up to intercept passes. The defensive unit functions by squeezing the space and forcing the opposition to play wide, where the midfield can then trap them.

The midfield is the engine of this Al-Nassr lineup, using a five man unit to control the game. Lajami and Yhayha sit in a double pivot to shield the defense and win the second ball. Brozovic and Al-Khaibari operate as two inverted eights who drive forward with the ball and connect the defense to the attack. Otávio plays as the attacking ten behind the striker, looking to play through the lines and find pockets of space. This midfield group allows the team to recycle possession and maintain control in the central areas.

Up front, the team employs three attackers to stretch the defense. Cristiano acts as the main striker, using his movement to pin the last defender and arrive late into the box. Sadio Mané plays as an inverted winger on the left, looking to cut inside and create chances, while Angelo stays wide on the right to provide width. The attack is built through quick combinations and movement, with the forwards pressing the opposition back line to force errors and create chances in transition.

A major advantage of this formation is the numerical superiority in midfield, which allows the team to dictate the tempo of the game. The presence of five players in the middle makes it very difficult for opponents to play through the center.
