Zlomislić guards the goal while a back five provides a dense defensive line. Petrovič acts as the central defender to anchor the unit, flanked by Majstorović on the left and Radeljić on the right. The wing backs, Devetak and Oreč, are tasked with providing width and tracking back to defend against wide runners. This formation allows the three center backs to cover the width of the penalty area and secure the middle when the team drops into a low block.

The midfield consists of a central pair featuring Janković and Dantas. These two players must work tirelessly to cover the ground between the lines. Janković and Dantas act as the engine, working to win the second ball and quickly move the ball to the attackers. They sit in front of the back five to protect the central zone and ensure the opposition cannot play through the middle. Their main job is to recycle possession and find the front three as soon as a turnover occurs.
