Tigres aims to play a direct and vertical style of football with a heavy emphasis on offensive transitions. This 4-4-2 formation is built to use two powerful strikers to pin the opposition defenders back. The lineup focuses on winning the second ball and moving the ball quickly through the middle and wide areas to catch the opponent out of position.

N. GUZMÁN operates between the posts to anchor the defensive unit. The back four functions as a flat line to maintain compactness. T. NILO and JIMÉNEZ act as full backs to provide width, while JUNINHO and J. RIVAS form the central pair. JUNINHO and J. RIVAS must hold the line and cover for one another to prevent runs in behind. The defensive unit works together to squeeze the space in front of them and force the opposition to play long.

A double pivot sits in front of the defense to control the center of the pitch. A. RÍOS and G. PIZARRO work as the two holding midfielders to shield the defense and recycle possession. A. RÍOS often drops between the center backs to help build from the back while G. PIZARRO looks to intercept passes and win the second ball. J. DAMM and J. AQUINO occupy the wide areas as attacking midfielders to connect the lines. These players are tasked to carry the ball forward and provide service to the front two.

The attacking front line relies on a partnership of two forwards. P. GIGNAC and R. SÓBIS lead the line, often combining in tight spaces to break the line. P. GIGNAC uses his aerial strength and ability to hold up the ball to bring others into play. R. SÓBIS plays as a second striker who can drop into the hole to create links. The team builds the attack through the wide midfielders who look to cross the ball or cut inside to create goalscoring chances.

Tigres benefits from the ability to press in a mid-block and strike quickly on the transition. The presence of P. GIGNAC and R. SÓBIS allows for immediate pressure on the opposition back line. This formation also offers the strength to win headers and physical battles in the final third. The compactness of the four midfielders ensures that the team is difficult to play through in the middle.

This 4-4-2 formation provides Tigres with a balanced presence that can transition from defense to attack with great speed. It is best suited for games against opponents who leave space behind their defensive line.
