Бахрієв (Третяков, Бурба) · Дзюбенко (Дума) · Шевчук (Терещенко, Рябін (Н)) · Демяненко (Мармуляк) · Мазур (Чайка) · Пістряк (Борисов) · Довгий (Андрейченко (Н)) · Калюжний (Супронович (Н)) · Злаказов (Гузар, Лазорець (Н)) · Мартинюк, Кургузов (Стеніхін (Н), Манзюк (Н)) · Валігурський (Канаровський, Могила)Dynamo Kyiv aims to control the game through a compact mid-block and quick transitions using a 4-5-1. This formation is built to stay solid in the middle of the pitch while waiting to hit the opposition in transition. The lineup relies on collective discipline to stay narrow and deny space between the lines.
Kurguzov sits between the posts to organize the back line. A flat back four serves as the primary defensive unit with Zlakazov and Valihurskiy occupying the wide positions. Zlakazov acts as a defensive wing back to protect the flank while Valihurskiy provides balance on the opposite side. In the center, Dovhyi and Kaliuzhnyi form the partnership to defend the box and clear the lines. They must hold the line together to ensure the defensive unit stays connected and does not leave gaps for runners to exploit.
The midfield unit operates in a five man block to squeeze the space in the center. Pistriak sits as a single pivot to shield the defence and pick up runners. Moving ahead of him, Dzyubenko and Mazur act as two central midfielders to compete for the second ball and connect the defensive and attacking lines. On the flanks, Shevchuk and Demianenko play as attacking midfielders in the half spaces to provide width and support the press. This three man central group works to intercept passes and win the ball back quickly to start an attack.
In the attacking phase, the team uses a lone striker in Bahriiev to lead the line. Bahriiev must hold up the ball and find the feet of the striker to bring the midfielders into play. The attacking unit relies on the wide midfielders, Shevchuk and Demianenko, to push high and support the striker. They look to create runs in behind or deliver crosses into the box when the team wins possession. The goal is to use the width provided by the midfielders to stretch the defence and create chances through quick combinations.
Dynamo Kyiv finds strength in their ability to stay compact when defending in a mid-block. The midfield trio of Pistriak, Dzyubenko, and Mazur allows for numerical superiority in the center of the pitch. This setup also enables a high press in coordinated waves when Shevchuk and Demianenko trigger a press from the front. By keeping the lines close together, the team makes it difficult for opponents to play through the thirds.
This 4-5-1 formation is a disciplined setup designed to frustrate superior sides. It is best suited for games where the team needs to sit deep and counter at pace against teams that dominate possession.
