The attacking unit uses three players to stretch the defense. Memphis plays as a central striker, looking to find the feet of the striker and hold up the ball. On the flanks, Bruno Henrique and Ramon Sosa act as wide attackers. Bruno Henrique often cuts inside to occupy central spaces, while Ramon Sosa works to stretch the defense by staying wide. The forwards press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition. This front three creates runs in behind to exploit gaps in the defense.

Flamengo can also create wide overloads when Emerson and Ramon Sosa push into the same vertical channel.
