Unión (SF) focuses on a direct style of play using a 4-4-2 formation. This lineup is built to win the second ball and transition quickly from defence to attack. Rodríguez and Fascendini stay close together to defend zonally and protect the space behind the midfield. They work to hold the line and ensure the distance between the defenders remains tight.

The midfield works as a block to squeeze the space in front of the back four. M. Martínez sits as a single pivot to shield the defence and intercept passes. M. Pittón and Palacios work to drive forward and carry the ball into attacking areas. Del Blanco connects the lines by helping to recycle possession and support the press. The wide players help to stretch the defence by pulling wide and looking to deliver crosses to the central duo.

Another strength is the speed of transition when the team wins the ball. The quick movements of Tarragona and Gamba allow the team to break quickly and hit the opposition on the move. The formation also allows for wide overloads when the full backs push up to support the midfield.
