The defensive unit functions to maintain a high line, using Topçu to sweep up behind the defense and win the second ball.

The midfield operates as a double pivot to provide stability. Ndidi serves to shield the defense, using his physical presence to intercept passes and win duels. Kökçü plays as a carrier, driving forward with the ball to connect the defensive and attacking lines. This pair must work hard to compress the midfield and ensure the distance between the back four and the forwards remains small.

Besiktas uses four attackers to stretch the opposition defense. Rafa and Abraham operate as two center forwards, with Abraham able to hold up the ball while Rafa looks to find space between the lines. The wingers on the left and right stay wide to pull the defenders apart. This front line is designed to create runs in behind and deliver crosses into the box to attack the far post.
