The midfield is the engine of this Leeds side, utilizing a five man unit to control the center. Gudmundsson and Ampadu form a double pivot that sits in front of the two center backs to shield the defense. Stach and S. Longstaff act as two inverted eights who drive forward with the ball to connect the lines. Aaronson plays as an attacking ten in the hole, pressing aggressively to win the ball high and looking to play through the lines. This formation allows the midfield to pass and recycle possession while staying compact in the middle.

In the final third, the team uses three attackers to stretch the opposition. Gnonto and D. James operate as wide wingers who look to cut inside and create chaos in the box. Piroe acts as the main striker to lead the press and find the feet of the midfielders. The wingers often pull wide to spread the wide areas, allowing the midfielders to arrive late into the box. This attacking unit works in combinations to break the line with through balls or quick one two passes.
