Starting Lineup

Tala · Castillo · Campillo · Romo · Mozo · B. González · Hormiga · E. Álvarez · Piojo · R. Ledezma · E. Gutiérrez

Chivas plays with a high press and vertical intent using a 3-4-3. This formation allows the team to pin the opposition back and hunt for the ball in advanced areas. By using a three man defensive base, the team can commit more bodies forward to overwhelm the opponent in the final third.

In goal, Tala manages the defensive line from deep. The back three consists of Castillo, Romo, and Campillo. Romo sits in the center to act as the primary cover, while Castillo and Campillo spread wide to handle wide runners. This defensive unit works together to squeeze the space between the lines. When facing direct attacks, Castillo and Campillo are ready to step up to intercept passes or track runners.

The midfield operates with a central core of Mozo and B. González who work to shield the defense. E. Gutiérrez helps to connect the defensive and attacking lines, providing stability in the middle of the pitch. R. Ledezma plays as an attacking ten behind the forward line, looking to find pockets of space between the opponent's midfield and defense. Mozo and B. González drive forward to support the attack, while also dropping back to form a compact shape when defending.

Chivas attacks with three players across the front. Hormiga leads the line as a lone striker, looking to find the feet of his teammates or run in behind the defense. Piojo and E. Álvarez occupy the wide areas, with Piojo operating on the left and E. Álvarez on the right. Both players look to cut inside to create chances, often pulling wide to stretch the defense before moving into central areas. This creates many opportunities for Hormiga to attack the near post or far post during crosses.

This lineup offers great strength in the transition phase. The ability to press high in coordinated waves allows the team to win it back high up the pitch. There is also a clear advantage in creating wide overloads as the midfielders and wingers combine to bypass the opposition block. By using the width provided by Piojo and E. Álvarez, the team can isolate defenders in one on one situations.

This 3-4-3 formation is designed for a team that wants to dominate through aggressive pressing and quick vertical play. It is best suited for matches against opponents who struggle to play out from the back under heavy pressure.
