ŠEMPER (SCUFFET/NICOLAS) · CANESTRELLI (CALABRESI) · LUSUARDI (MBAMBI) · CARACCIOLO (DENOON) · ANGORI (ESTEVES) · MARIN (PICCININI) · AEBISCHER (HØJHOLT) · TOURÉ (LERIS) · TRAMONI (MEISTER) · CUADRADO (MOREO) · NZOLA (LIND)Pisa plays with a high intensity to win the ball high up the pitch using a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup is built to move the ball forward quickly and exploit vertical passing lanes. The identity of the team relies on heavy pressing and rapid transitions to catch opponents while they are out of position.
Šemper operates as the goalkeeper to organize the defense from deep. The back line consists of a three man unit where Caracciolo acts as the central defender to win headers and hold the line. Lusuardi and Canestrelli provide cover on either side of him to maintain a narrow defensive block. They work to protect the central areas and force the opposition to play wide. This defensive unit stays compact to minimize the space between the lines.
The midfield utilizes a central pairing of Aebischer and Marin to control the center of the pitch. Aebischer works to carry the ball forward into the half spaces while Marin stays deeper to shield the defense and intercept passes. Angori and Touré operate as wide midfielders to provide width and stretch the opposition. Angori moves high to support the attack while Touré provides balance by tracking back to help the defenders. This midfield connects the defense to the attack by recycling possession and playing through the lines.
In the attacking phase, Pisa employs three forwards to pressure the opposition back line. Nzola serves as the lone striker and uses his physical presence to hold up the ball and win the second ball. Tramoni and Cuadrado play as wide attackers to create constant movement. Cuadrado uses his dribbling style to cut inside from the right flank to threaten the goal. Tramoni looks to stretch the defense by pulling wide or finding pockets of space. These movements allow the team to create runs in behind and deliver crosses into the box.
The tactical strengths of this lineup include the ability to create wide overloads using the wingers and wide midfielders. Pisa can also win the ball high up the pitch to trigger a press and break quickly. Having Nzola as a central target man allows the team to play long to find his feet or use his strength to lay it off to runners.
The 3-4-3 formation provides a balance of defensive solidity and attacking speed. This lineup is most effective when facing opponents that play a high line and leave space to hit in behind on the transition.
