The attack relies on a partnership of two forwards, with TORRES and PELIQUERO leading the line. TORRES and PELIQUERO work in combinations to stretch the defense, either by making runs in behind or holding up the ball to let others join. The two forwards press the opposition back line to force long balls and win the second ball. A major strength for Vélez is the ability to create numerical superiority in the central areas when FUCENECCO pushes up.
