Starting Lineup

Defensive solidity is the priority for Seattle as they look to control games through a disciplined low block. They employ a 5-3-2 formation that focuses on being hard to break down. This lineup is built to play a vertical style of football, looking to transition from defense to attack in a matter of seconds.

The goalkeeper sits behind a dense back five to protect the goal. VALEHI anchors the central part of the defense, acting as a dominant presence to win the header and clear the lines. To the sides, the LCB and RCB work to maintain the line, while the LWB and RWB act as attacking wing backs to provide width. The entire defensive unit works together to squeeze the space and deny the turn to opposition attackers.

The midfield consists of a three man unit that connects the defense to the front line. MINE works on the left side of this trio, while SAKAZ holds the right side. OBLIVION operates as an attacking ten, sitting just behind the two strikers to find pockets of space. MINE and SAKAZ are tasked to shield the defense and win the second ball in the middle of the pitch. OBLIVION looks to receive on the half turn and play through the lines to find the forwards.

Up front, the team uses two forwards in a partnership to stretch the opposition. SHINRA and HEDGE lead the line, often working in close combinations to break the defensive line. SHINRA can play as a pressing centre forward to force a long ball, while HEDGE looks to hold up the ball and lay it off to arriving runners. The width comes from the wing backs who overlap the wide areas to deliver crosses into the box. This movement creates space for SHINRA and HEDGE to make runs in behind.

Seattle gains a significant advantage from their ability to maintain a compact block when sitting deep. The narrowness of the midfield trio makes it difficult for opponents to find passing lanes through the center. Furthermore, the formation allows for great speed of transition. When the ball is won, the team can quickly switch play or go direct to the strikers to catch the opposition out of position.
