Starting Lineup

Cvetkovic · Raux Yao · Marcelin · Bolla · J. Auer · Grgic · Amane · Antiste · Seidl · Radulovic · Hedl

SK Rapid looks to control games through a high press and rapid transitions using a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup aims to squeeze the space in the middle of the pitch while using wide players to stretch the opposition. The team is built to win the ball high up the pitch and strike quickly before the opponent can regroup.

Hedl sits between the posts to manage the defensive line. The back three consists of Cvetkovic, Raux Yao, and Marcelin, who play as a compact unit to defend the central areas. Marcelin and Cvetkovic provide physical presence to win the header and clear the lines, while Raux Yao acts as a ball playing defender to start the build up. This defensive unit stays connected to ensure they can catch runners in behind if the team plays a high line.

A four man midfield works to control the center and support the wide areas. Grgic and Amane act as the central pair, where Grgic works to press aggressively to win the ball high and Amane helps to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Bolla and J. Auer operate as wide midfielders who provide the width for SK Rapid. Bolla pushes up to support the attack, while J. Auer tracks back to help the defense, ensuring the midfield remains compact when defending.

The attack features three players who look to punish the opposition in transition. Antiste acts as the lone striker and works to hold up the ball and find the feet of his teammates. Seidl and Radulovic play as wide attackers, with Seidl looking to cut inside to create chances and Radulovic looking to stay wide to deliver crosses. These three forwards press the opposition back line to force a long ball and regain possession quickly.

This formation offers several tactical advantages for SK Rapid. The three man midfield and the wide midfielders allow the team to create wide overloads when attacking. By using the three attackers, the team can also press in coordinated waves to win the ball back high up the pitch. The setup allows for quick transitions when the ball is recovered in the middle third.

The 3-4-3 formation provides a strong platform for aggressive pressing and wide attacking play. It is best suited for games where the team needs to dominate territory and force the opponent into mistakes through high pressure.
