River aims to control games through high pressing and quick vertical transitions using a 3-4-3. This formation focuses on heavy pressure in the opponent half to win the ball back high up the pitch. The River lineup is built to stretch the defence and create chaos through high intensity movement.

Armani sits between the posts to organize the defensive unit. A back three forms the foundation of the defense with Rivero acting as the left centre-back and Martínez Quarta playing as the right centre-back. Díaz occupies the central role to command the line. This back three functions as a zonal line that can shift to cover wide areas when the wing backs push forward. Martínez Quarta provides aerial strength to win headers during defensive set pieces.

In the middle of the pitch, the team utilizes a central pairing of Portillo and Castaño to control the tempo. Portillo acts as a carrier to drive forward with the ball and link the defensive and attacking lines. Castaño stays more central to shield the defence and win the second ball. On the flanks, Montiel and Acuña operate as wing backs to provide width. They must track back to help the defence when the team loses possession and push up to overlap the wingers when in possession.

The attacking line features three players tasked with pinning the last defender. Driussi plays as the lone striker to hold up the ball and find the feet of his teammates. Colidio and Salas act as wide attackers who cut inside to create central presence. Colidio looks to play through the lines to find space between the opponent's back four and midfield. The forwards press from the front to force a long ball and disrupt the opposition build up.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves by using the front three and the wing backs. River can also create wide overloads when Montiel and Acuña push high to double up on opposing wingers. The central pairing of Portillo and Castaño allows the team to maintain compactness when defending in a mid-block.

This 3-4-3 lineup is designed for teams that want to dominate through aggressive pressing and quick transitions. It is best suited for matches against opponents who try to play short from the back and struggle under pressure.
