Boca aims to control the rhythm through a compact and hard to beat unit using a 4-5-1 formation. This lineup focuses on winning the ball back in the middle third and using quick vertical movements to catch the opposition off guard. Marchesin acts as the last line of defense in goal. The defensive unit works as a flat back four where barinaga and blanco provide width. Barinaga covers the right side while blanco holds the left, both capable of pushing up to support the midfield. In the center, di lollo and airton costa act as the main protectors, with di lollo being dominant in the air to clear long balls. They defend zonally to keep the line straight and ensure the team can set the offside trap when needed.

The midfield is a five man block that covers every inch of the central area. Paredes sits in the center to connect the defense and attack, using his passing range to switch play and find teammates. Next to him, battaglia and delgado act as the engine room, with battaglia pressing aggressively to win the ball high and delgado driving forward to carry the ball forward into the final third. On the flanks, velasco and aguirre provide extra coverage, with velasco looking to overlap the winger while aguirre tracks back to help the defense.

In the attacking phase, the team operates with a lone striker, Merentiel, who acts as a pressing centre-forward. Merentiel works to pin the last defender and hold up the ball to bring the midfielders into the play. The width comes from velasco and aguirre, who look to get to the byline and deliver crosses. The team builds attacks through short passes in the middle before looking to hit in behind on the transition with runs from the wide players and late runs into the box from the midfielders.

A major strength for Boca is the ability to squeeze the space in the center, making it very hard for opponents to play through the lines. The midfield trio of Paredes, battaglia, and delgado creates a compact block that is difficult to bypass. This formation also offers speed of transition, allowing the team to move from a defensive block to an attacking wave very quickly once they win possession.
