Arsenal aims to control matches through heavy attacking pressure using a 4-2-4. Van Domselaar starts in goal to oversee the defensive unit. The back line operates as a flat back four, with Fox at right back and Mccabe at left back. Fox and Mccabe are expected to push up to provide width, while the central pairing of Catley and Williamson holds the line. Williamson acts as a ball playing defender to start attacks, while Catley provides cover to sweep behind a high line if the opposition breaks. The unit works to squeeze the space and keep the team compact when the ball is lost.

The midfield functions as a double pivot to provide a platform for the attackers. Little and Mariona occupy the central roles, tasked with controlling the tempo and recycling possession. Little works to drive forward with the ball to link the lines, while Mariona focuses on pressing aggressively to win the ball high up the pitch. These two must be disciplined to avoid being bypassed, as they sit in front of the defense to intercept passes and shield the center backs.

In the attacking phase, the team employs four dedicated forwards to stretch the defense. Foord and Kelly act as wide wingers, with Kelly looking to cut inside and Foord pulling wide to create space. In the center, Maanum and Russo operate as a strike partnership. Russo acts as a pressing centre-forward to disrupt the buildup, while Maanum looks to find the feet of the striker and play through the lines. This group aims to create runs in behind and provide constant threat in transition.

A major tactical advantage of this lineup is the ability to create wide overloads when the full backs join the wingers. The 4-2-4 also allows for the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it very difficult for opponents to play out from the back. Having four players positioned near the opponent's goal ensures that Arsenal can win the second ball frequently in the attacking third.
