Starting Lineup

vicho · AXL · Ivan · Brian J · Juanito · Churrasco · Felipe G · Cristopher · Bastian M · Carlos B (Davi) · Pato

PSG focuses on a high press and rapid transitions using a 4-4-2 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and attack the space behind the opposition back line with speed. The team aims to dominate through aggressive movement and quick vertical passes once possession is regained.

Pato operates in goal to start the build up. A flat back four forms the defensive base with Carlos B and Ivan acting as the central defenders. Carlos B provides cover while Ivan stays closer to the wide areas. vicho plays as the right back and is expected to overlap the winger, while AXL occupies the left back position to provide width. This unit works together to hold a high line and squeeze the space in the middle of the pitch.

The midfield works in a way that links the defense to the front two. Juanito and Brian J form a central pairing to shield the defense and recycle possession. Bastian M plays as an inverted eight to connect the lines, often dropping deeper to help the center backs. Churrasco operates as an attacking ten behind the strikers to create chances in the half spaces. This midfield group seeks to win the second ball and push the team forward through the thirds.

PSG utilizes two forwards in a partnership to stretch the defense. Felipe G acts as the lone striker in some phases to hold up the ball, while Cristopher plays as a second striker to make runs in behind. These two forwards press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition. The attack relies on combinations in tight spaces and wingers who can cut inside to create overload situations. They often look to deliver early crosses or play one-twos to break the line.

One major strength of this formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to win the ball back high up the pitch. PSG also benefits from wide overloads when vicho and AXL push forward to support the midfield. The team can quickly shift between a compact mid-block and a direct counter at pace.

This 4-4-2 lineup is built for high intensity and quick verticality. It is best suited for matches against teams that play a high line and leave space behind their defenders.
