Škriniar/Becão is tasked with being dominant in the air and winning first contact, whereas Çağlar/Jayden must cover the space behind when the full backs push high. The unit is expected to hold a high line to squeeze the space between the lines.

The midfield functions as a double pivot to provide a layer of protection for the defence. Fred/??? operates as a ball carrier to drive forward with the ball, while Álvarez/İsmail provides the shield to deny the pivot of the opposition. This two-man midfield must work hard to recover the ball and immediately look to find the forwards. They are responsible for recycling possession and ensuring the team does not get caught on the break when the full backs are caught high up the pitch.

Fenerbahçe employs a front four that looks to attack in combinations and stretch the defence. En-Nesyri/Duran acts as the primary target man to hold up the ball, supported by Asensio/Szymanski/Talisca who plays in a more advanced role to arrive late into the box. On the flanks, Kerem/Oğuz and Nene/İrfan C. act as wide wingers who hug the touchline to provide maximum width. This movement creates space in the middle for late runs and allows the team to whip it in from wide areas to the central strikers.
