Inter plays with a high press and a vertical mindset using a 3-4-3. This formation is built to win the ball high up the pitch and attack quickly in transition. The team looks to stretch the opposition horizontally while maintaining a compact block to deny space.

ATUBOLU guards the goal as the team defends zonally. The back line consists of a back three with BISSECK, LUCUMI, and BASTONI. BASTONI is a ball playing defender with a great passing range to break the line. BISSECK and LUCUMI provide cover and can step up to catch the opposition offside or sweep behind the line. The unit works together to squeeze the space and protect the central area.

BARELLA and SUCIC control the tempo in the middle of the pitch. BARELLA uses his high work rate and ability to carry the ball forward to drive the team through the thirds. SUCIC links the defence and attack by helping to recycle possession and cover for the wing backs. DIMARCO and DUMFRIES act as attacking wing backs to provide width and stretch the opposition. DIMARCO often looks to overlap the winger to whip it in, while DUMFRIES uses his strength to drive into the half spaces.

Three attackers lead the line. LAUTARO acts as a pressing centre-forward to disrupt the opposition build up. M.THURAM and ENCISO operate as wide attackers to stretch the defence. M.THURAM often cuts inside to create chances, while ENCISO looks to find pockets of space between the lines. LAUTARO works to hold up the ball and find the feet of his teammates. The forwards often press in pairs to force a long ball from the opposition.

A key advantage for Inter is the wide overloads created by the overlapping runs of DIMARCO and DUMFRIES. This forces the opposition to defend wide and often leaves gaps in the middle for runners to exploit. The team also shows strength in their ability to press in coordinated waves. This pressure makes it difficult for opponents to play out from the back.

This 3-4-3 formation is a powerful tool for an aggressive team. It is most effective against opponents who struggle to handle high pressure and quick transitions.
