Starting Lineup

Diouf · Ndayishimiye · Dante · Bard · Abdi · Boudaoui · Abdul Samed · Clauss · Sanson · Moffi · Boga

OGC Nice operates with a high press and a focus on quick vertical transitions, utilizing a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and strike rapidly before the opposition can settle. The team looks to control the central areas while using the width of the pitch to stretch the opponent.

Diouf stays between the posts to command the area. The back three consists of Dante, Ndayishimiye, and Bard. Dante acts as the leader of the defense, using his experience to organize the line and cover for his teammates. Ndayishimiye and Bard provide stability as they defend zonally, with Dante often stepping up to intercept passes. This defensive unit works together to maintain a compact block when they do not have the ball.

The midfield is a busy engine room designed to dominate the center of the pitch. Clauss and Abdul Samed operate in the central roles, where they work to win the second ball and recycle possession. Abdi provides balance on the left side of this midfield group. Sanson and Boudaoui push further forward to operate in the half-spaces, acting as attacking midfielders who connect the middle to the front line. They are tasked to press aggressively to win the ball back high up the pitch.

Up front, Nice uses two forwards in a partnership to challenge the opposition defense. Moffi acts as the focal point, using his aerial strength to hold up the ball and provide a target for long balls. Boga plays alongside him as a more mobile attacker, looking to run in behind the defenders or cut inside from the left. Their movement forces the opposition back line to drop deep, creating space for the midfielders to arrive late into the box.

One major advantage for OGC Nice is the numerical superiority they can achieve in the middle of the park. By using five players in the center, they can often outnumber the opposition and win the ball back quickly. Another strength is the ability to create wide overloads when Sanson or Boudaoui push forward to support the attacking moves. This makes it difficult for the opponent to track every runner.

This 3-5-2 formation relies on intense pressing and rapid transitions to catch teams off guard. It is a highly effective lineup for facing opponents who try to build play slowly from the back.
