Galatasaray aims to control the tempo through a high press and quick transitions using a 4-5-1 formation. This lineup relies on winning the ball high up the pitch to catch the opposition out of position. By using a compact midfield, the team looks to dominate the center of the pitch before finding the striker to break the lines.

Ugurcan stays between the posts to command the area. The defensive unit functions with a flat back four that maintains a high line to squeeze the space. Sanchez acts as a ball playing defender to help play out from the back, while Abdulkerim provides aerial strength and covers the space behind. Singo plays as an attacking full back to provide width, whereas Elmali supports the left flank with overlapping runs. This back four works to stay tight and defend zonally when the team drops into a mid-block.

The midfield operates as a five man unit designed to compress the midfield and win the second ball. Torreira acts as the single pivot to shield the defence and intercept passes. Sara works alongside him to drive forward with the ball and connects the defensive and attacking lines. Ilkay operates in the center to recycle possession and find the feet of the striker, while Baris and Sané occupy the half spaces to press aggressively. This group can shift to form a three man midfield when the team loses possession to deny the turn to opponents.

Galatasaray utilizes a lone striker in Victor Osimhen to lead the line. Osimhen acts as a pressing centre-forward to force a long ball from the opposition. He uses his pace to make runs in behind and is capable of holding up the ball for the late runners. The wide midfielders, Sané and Baris, act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create goal scoring chances. This movement allows the full backs to overlap the winger and provide crosses from wide areas.

One major advantage is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it difficult for teams to build play from the back. The midfield provides numerical superiority in the center, allowing the team to control the rhythm. Additionally, the speed of transition through Osimhen and the wide players creates constant threats when the team breaks quickly.

This 4-5-1 formation provides a balance of defensive compactness and attacking intent. It is best suited for games where Galatasaray needs to disrupt the opponent's rhythm and exploit space on the break.
