Celta looks to dominate through high pressing and quick transitions in a 3-4-3. This formation is built to play vertical football, looking to win the ball high up the pitch and strike quickly before the opponent can settle. By using a heavy presence in the attacking third, the team aims to pin the opposition back and force errors in their buildup.

Radu stays between the posts to organize the defensive unit from the back. The back three consists of Manu Fernández, C. Dominguez, and Marcos Alonso. Manu Fernández acts as the right side center back to cover wide areas, while Marcos Alonso provides left sided coverage. C. Dominguez sits in the middle to anchor the line and win headers. This defensive line is meant to play out from the back, with the players ready to step up to squeeze the space and keep the defensive block high.

The midfield operates with two central players and two wide midfielders to control the center and the flanks. Ilaix Moriba and Hugo Sotelo form a two man midfield tasked with winning the second ball and driving forward with the ball. Ilaix Moriba provides energy to press aggressively, while Hugo Sotelo helps to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Javi Rueda and Carreira act as the wide midfielders, providing the width needed to stretch the defence. They must track back to help the defenders and drop into a mid block when the team loses possession.

In the attacking third, Celta employs three attackers to pin the last defender. Ferrán acts as the lone striker to lead the line and hold up the ball. On the wings, Pablo Durán and Iago Aspas provide much needed width and goal threat. Iago Aspas is known for his vision and ability to play through the lines, often moving from the right to create space. Pablo Durán operates on the left to look for runs in behind. The front three press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition.

The main strengths of this formation lie in the ability to press high in coordinated waves and create wide overloads. When Javi Rueda and Carreira push forward, they create numbers against the opposition full backs. This allows the team to win the ball back high up the pitch and attack in transition. The proximity of the midfield and attack also helps the team combine in tight spaces to break the line.

This 3-4-3 formation is designed for a high intensity game where winning the ball high is the main goal. It is best suited for matches against teams that struggle to play short from the back under heavy pressure.
