Huracán Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Vidal Toprak · Mirko Segovia · Barrios de Bastian · Isaías Balbuena · Samuel Ortiz · Milo Ibáñez · Benicio Orieta · Benjamín Crowe · Fran Fernández · Jonás Villegas · Fran MorínigoHuracán relies on a high press and rapid transitions using a 3-5-2. This formation is built to overwhelm the center of the pitch and quicken the tempo when the ball is won. The team looks to use their central density to control games and punish opponents in the middle third.
Mirko Segovia acts as the last line of defense behind a compact back three. Vidal Toprak sits in the middle of the defensive line to command the area and win the header. On either side, Isaías Balbuena and Barrios de Bastian operate as wide center backs, providing cover when the team pushes up. This defensive unit works to squeeze the space and force the opposition into wide areas where they can be trapped.
The midfield is a five man unit designed to dominate the central zones. Samuel Ortiz and Milo Ibáñez play as a double pivot to shield the defense and recycle possession. Ahead of them, Benjamín Crowe acts as a carrier to move the ball through the thirds. Benicio Orieta and Fran Fernández operate as two inverted eights, making late runs into the box and pressing aggressively to win the ball back high up the pitch. This group connects the back three to the front two by playing through the lines.
Huracán utilizes two forwards in a partnership to stretch the defense. Jonás Villegas and Fran Morínigo operate as a duo, often looking to play one-two combinations to bypass the opposition back line. They use their movement to create runs in behind and pull the defenders out of position. When the team attacks, they look to find the feet of the striker to hold up the ball before spreading wide or slipping through balls to the runners.
This formation offers significant numerical superiority in midfield, making it difficult for opponents to pass through the center. The presence of the two eights allows Huracán to create wide overloads when they shift the play. The team also benefits from a high level of compactness when defending, making it very hard to find gaps between the lines.
The 3-5-2 formation provides Huracán with a strong central presence and high pressing capability. It is best suited for games where the team needs to control the tempo and exploit the central areas against a mid block.
