Starting Lineup

RONIN · ERD · GALAXY · PON · BOSINN · HYPER · SUKI · EDVIN · NOKE · DIM · ESQUI

Milan focuses on defensive solidity and quick transitions through a 5-4-1 formation. This lineup is built to sit deep and frustrate opponents, waiting to strike when the opposition leaves space behind. The team relies on a compact block to deny passing lanes and force turnovers in central areas.

ESQUI acts as the last line of defense behind a back five. The defensive unit uses a narrow defensive block to protect the middle. SUKI and HYPER work as the central defenders, providing cover and winning headers, while EDVIN sits centrally to help sweep behind the line. DIM and NOKE play as attacking wing backs, tasked with providing width in possession and tracking back to defend the flanks. The whole unit works to squeeze the space between the lines and maintain a disciplined line.

The midfield operates as a flat four to maintain compactness. BOSINN sits in the single pivot role to shield the defense and win the second ball. ERD and PON occupy the central roles, with PON looking to connect the lines and ERD helping to drive forward with the ball. GALAXY plays as the left central midfielder, tasked to press aggressively to win the ball high or drop back to assist the wing back. This group works together to compress the midfield and deny the opposition time on the ball.

In the attacking phase, Milan utilizes a lone striker in RONIN. He acts as a target man to hold up the ball and allow the midfield to push up. The attack is built through quick breaks where DIM and NOKE push high to provide width. RONIN must work to pin the last defender, creating space for late runs from the midfield. The team looks to transition quickly, using the wing backs to whip it in or find the feet of the striker in one on one situations.

A major tactical advantage for Milan is the ability to defend in a very compact low block, making it hard for opponents to find gaps. The formation also offers great width through the wing backs, allowing for quick switches of play. This creates the potential for wide overloads when DIM and NOKE join the attack.

The 5-4-1 formation provides a resilient defensive base that is difficult to break down. This lineup is best suited for facing dominant teams that control possession and require a disciplined counter attacking response.
