Japan relies on a high press and quick transitions through a 4-3-3. This formation is built to win the ball high up the pitch and use verticality to catch opponents out of position. The team wants to play with high intensity to squeeze the space and force mistakes in the opposition defensive third.

Frizzy sits between the posts as the goalkeeper. The back line operates as a flat back four that can step up to set the offside trap. NK (C), wearing the captain's armband, plays as the right back and provides stability. Poxmelator and Korovka act as the two central defenders, where Poxmelator covers the left side and Korovka covers the right. Alimusic plays as the left back, ready to push up and overlap. This defensive unit works to maintain a high line to keep the team compact.

The midfield features a three-man midfield with a carrier to link the play. Mine and Onio operate in the central roles, with Mine on the left and Onio on the right. They aim to win the second ball and recycle possession quickly. Ulqui plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, looking to find pockets of space between the lines. This trio works to compress the midfield and prevent the opposition from playing through the lines.

Up front, Japan utilizes three attackers across the front. Nero acts as the lone striker, looking to hold up the ball and find the feet of the runners. On the wings, Ingus and Zoro operate as inverted wingers who cut inside to create central overloads. This movement creates space for the wide defenders to overlap. The front three press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition back line.

One major advantage is the ability to press high in coordinated waves. This creates pressure that can lead to turnovers in dangerous areas. Japan also benefits from the wide overloads when Alimusic and Ingus combine to stretch the defence. The movement of Ulqui between the lines makes it hard for opponents to mark the space.

This 4-3-3 formation focuses on high pressing and rapid verticality. It is best suited for games against teams that struggle to play out from the back under pressure.
