Starting Lineup

Prioritizing a high press and quick transitions, Atlético utilizes a 4-2-4 formation to overwhelm opponents. This lineup is built to play vertically, looking to exploit space behind the opposition defense as soon as the ball is won. The team aims to squeeze the space high up the pitch to force turnovers in dangerous areas.

Aw guards the goal while the back line sits in a high line to keep the team compact. Sunlord and Fergal operate as the full backs, with Sunlord looking to push up and provide width while Fergal covers the flank. In the center, Fergy and Gltzy form the defensive pair, tasked with winning the second ball and covering any runs made in behind. They must stay disciplined to ensure they do not get caught out when the team pushes forward.

The midfield functions as a double pivot consisting of Harley and Kian. These two players act as the engine room, with Harley and Kian tasked to shield the defense and recover possession. They connect the defensive unit to the attacking front by recycling possession and playing through the lines. While they sit deeper to prevent counter attacks, they also need to be ready to carry the ball forward to support the heavy press.

In the attacking third, Atlético employs two forwards in a partnership with Jv and Jmz leading the line. Harv and Eyxd act as wide wingers who hug the touchline to stretch the defense. This creates massive gaps in the middle for Jv and Jmz to exploit through runs in behind. When the team wins the ball, Harv and Eyxd look to drive forward and deliver early crosses or cut it back to the arriving midfielders.
