Arsenal aim to control the tempo through high possession and a heavy press using a 4-3-3. This formation is built to dominate the ball in the opponent's half and squeeze the space as high up the pitch as possible. By keeping the lines close together, the team looks to win it back high up the pitch to launch immediate attacks.

Raya operates between the posts to start play from the back. The defensive line functions as a flat back four where Saliba acts as a ball playing defender to help progress play. Gabriel provides strength and aerial dominance in the center to protect the area. On the flanks, J.Timber works as an attacking full back to provide width, while Hincapié holds the left side to ensure the team maintains a strong defensive line.

A three man midfield provides the engine for Arsenal. Zubimendi acts as the single pivot to shield the defense and recycle possession. Rice plays as an inverted eight to drive forward with the ball and press aggressively in the middle. Ødegaard operates as an attacking ten behind the striker, using his passing range to find gaps in the opposition. This unit links the defensive line to the attack by playing through the lines and finding the forwards in key areas.

The attacking unit uses three forwards to stretch the opposition. Kvaratskhelia plays as an inverted winger on the left to cut inside and create chances, while Saka stays wide on the right to isolate defenders one on one. Alvarez leads the line as a pressing centre-forward to harass the opposition back line. The team builds attacks through combinations in tight spaces and looks to hit in behind on the transition when the opponents move forward.

This lineup offers significant advantages in controlling the center of the pitch. The midfield grouping allows for numerical superiority when facing two man midfields. Arsenal also benefit from wide overloads when the full backs push up to support the wingers. The coordinated press from the front three can often force a long ball from the opposition, making it easy for the defenders to win the second ball.

The 4-3-3 formation provides a high level of control through heavy possession and aggressive pressing. This setup is best suited for games against teams that sit deep and struggle to handle quick ball movement in the final third.
