Adrien Rabiot and Youssouf Fofana form the central duo, with Rabiot looking to win headers and Fofana to cover the space behind. The midfield is controlled by a single pivot with Luka Modric sitting deep to shield the defense. Modric uses his passing range to recycle possession and find the feet of his teammates. He acts as the link to the rest of the team by receiving the ball and playing through the lines. Tomori and Estupinian work as the central duo to protect the middle and win the second ball.
