Further up, K. Boateng and A. Ayew play as two tens in the half spaces, with K. Boateng looking to arrive late into the box and A. Ayew pulling wide to create passing lanes.

The attacking plan revolves around A. Gyan playing as a lone pressing centre forward. He works to pin the last defender and hold up the ball to bring the midfielders into play. When Ghana transitions, the wingers A. Ayew and K. Boateng look to exploit the channels. The team seeks to find the feet of the striker or play through the lines to catch the opposition defense out of position.
