Starting Lineup

Uğurcan · Jakobs · Davinson · Singo · Sallai · Eren · Lemina · Torreira · İlkay · Barış · Osimhen

Galatasaray aims to dominate through a high press and quick vertical play using a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup relies on winning the ball high up the pitch to catch opponents out of position. The team looks to control the central areas while using wide players to stretch the opposition defence.

Uğurcan stays between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit works as a back three with Davinson acting as the central figure who defends the zone and covers space. Singo operates as the right centre back to provide strength, while Jakobs plays as the left centre back. This trio must hold a high line to squeeze the space between the lines. When the team loses possession, the defenders must quickly drop into a mid-block to prevent long balls.

In the middle of the pitch, Galatasaray uses a three man midfield with a carrier and two central roles. Torreira acts as the single pivot to shield the defence and intercept passes. Lemina works alongside him to win the second ball and drive forward with the ball into the half spaces. İlkay plays as the advanced ten, looking to receive on the half turn and play through the lines to the forwards. The wide midfielders, Sallai and Eren, must provide the width and track back to help the defenders.

The attack features two forwards in a partnership to pressure the opposition back line. Osimhen plays as a pressing centre forward with immense aerial strength and pace to hunt for long balls. Barış works closely with him, making runs in behind to exploit the space. They look to combine in tight spaces and use the width provided by Sallai and Eren to create one on one situations. The goal is to find the feet of the striker or deliver early balls for runs into the box.

This formation offers significant advantages in the central zone. The presence of Torreira and Lemina allows for numerical superiority in midfield, making it hard for opponents to pass through the middle. Galatasaray can also use the wide players to create overloads when they push up the pitch. The speed of transition from the midfield to Osimhen and Barış makes the team very dangerous on the break.

The 3-5-2 lineup is a powerful tool for controlling the center of the park and attacking with intensity. It is best suited for games where the team wants to press high and punish opponents in transition.
