Inter aims to control games through high intensity and aggressive vertical play using a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and move the opposition toward their own goal with speed. The Inter tactical identity focuses on squeezing the space in the middle of the pitch while maintaining the ability to spread wide when attacking.

At the back, Atubolu starts in goal to organize the defensive line. The three central defenders operate in a back three where Akanji acts as the central pillar to win the header and cover the space behind his teammates. Bastoni operates as the left centre-back, using his passing range to play out from the back, while E.Garcia serves as the right centre-back to secure the flank. The defensive unit works to hold a high line and trigger a press when the opponent tries to build play.

The midfield utilizes a two man central pairing to control the tempo and link the back line to the attack. Barella works as one of the central midfielders, using his high pressing intensity to disrupt play and carry the ball forward into the final third. Sucic provides support in the middle to connect the defensive and attacking lines and help recycle possession. On the flanks, Augusto and Mingueza act as wide midfielders who provide width and are tasked to track back when defending to ensure the team remains compact.

In the attacking phase, the team uses three attackers to stretch the defence. Lautaro operates as the lone striker, looking to find the feet of the striker and hold up the ball to bring others into play. Gnoto plays on the left wing to cut inside and create chances, while V.Carboni occupies the right wing to provide width. This front line works to press the opposition back line to force a long ball and creates runs in behind to exploit gaps in the defensive line.

This formation offers several tactical advantages. Inter can create wide overloads when Mingueza and Augusto push high to support the wingers. The midfield presence of Barella and Sucic allows for numerical superiority in the center to win the second ball. Additionally, the team can transition quickly to attack, using the speed of the front three to hit in behind on the transition.

This 3-4-3 formation is designed for teams that want to dominate through pressing and rapid verticality. It is best suited for games against opponents that struggle to play out from the back under pressure.
