The midfield operates with a three man midfield with a carrier to connect the lines. Modric uses his exceptional passing range to control the tempo and recycle possession from deep. Ricci acts to win the second ball and provides stability, while Rabiot works to drive forward with the ball to break the line. Pulisic operates in the hole behind the strikers to create chances and link the midfield to the attack. This group works to press in a mid-block to deny the turn to opposition midfielders.

Milan utilizes two forwards in a partnership to stretch the defence. Leao plays as a left sided striker who loves to cut inside and take on defenders with his dribbling style.
