Inter plays with a high press and verticality using a 4-3-3. This formation is built to win the ball high up the pitch and quickly progress through the thirds. The goal is to control the tempo through central dominance while keeping the opposition under constant pressure to force a long ball.

JOSEP guards the goal as the last line of defence. The team defends with a flat back four, often using a high line to squeeze the space. BASTONI acts as a ball playing defender, looking to play short from the back to start attacks. AKANJI provides cover alongside him, making sure to win the header and mark the opposition striker. DUMFRIES pushes forward as an attacking full back to provide width, while AUGUSTO holds the line on the left to ensure the team remains compact when defending.

In the center of the pitch, a three-man midfield dictates the rhythm of the game. CALHANOGLU sits as a single pivot, using his passing range to switch play and find teammates in advanced positions. BARELLA operates as a carrier who can drive forward with the ball to break the line, using his high energy to cover ground. SUCIC connects the defensive and attacking lines, helping to recycle possession and drop into space to receive the ball from the defenders.

The attacking unit relies on three players to stretch the defence. LAUTARO leads the line as a pressing centre-forward, working to pin the last defender and find the feet of his teammates. On the flanks, THURAM acts as an inverted winger who will cut inside to create goalscoring chances, while HENRIQUE stays wide to pull the opposing full back away from the center. This formation creates many runs in behind and allows for quick one-two combinations to split the defence with a through ball.

One major advantage for Inter is the ability to create wide overloads when DUMFRIES and AUGUSTO push up. This creates extra passing lanes for the midfielders to exploit. Another strength is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, which forces the opponent to make mistakes. The team can also quickly shift from a defensive block to a vertical attack, making them dangerous on the transition.

This 4-3-3 formation is built for teams that want to dominate possession and squeeze the pitch. It is best used against opponents who struggle to play out from the back and can be caught by high pressure.
