Starting Lineup

Mirko Segovia · Vidal Toprak · Isaías Balbuena · Barrios de Bastian · Samuel Ortiz · Lautaro Collante · Benicio Orieta · Benjamín Crowe · Fran Fernández · Jonás Villegas · Milo Ibáñez

Huracán looks to play with a direct and counter attacking identity using a 5-3-2 formation. This lineup is built to sit deep and soak up pressure before hitting opponents quickly on the transition. The goal is to remain compact in the middle while providing enough width to stretch the game when the team wins the ball back high up the pitch.

Mirko Segovia guards the goal while the defensive unit holds a back five. Lautaro Collante and Samuel Ortiz act as the central defenders, providing a solid base to defend zonally and win the second ball. Vidal Toprak sits as the central figure in that trio to cover the space behind his teammates. The wide defenders, Isaías Balbuena at right wing back and Barrios de Bastian at left wing back, are tasked with providing the width and must track back to form a five man line when the team drops into a low block.

The midfield functions as a three man midfield with a carrier. Fran Fernández and Benicio Orieta work to control the central area, with Fran Fernández often looking to press aggressively to win the ball high. Benjamín Crowe operates in the hole as an attacking ten, sitting just behind the strikers to connect the lines. This group must stay close together to compress the midfield and deny the opponent time on the ball.

In the attacking phase, Huracán utilizes two forwards in a partnership. Jonás Villegas and Milo Ibáñez lead the line, looking to make runs in behind the opposition defense. The wide wingers are not present, so the attacking width comes entirely from the wing backs, Isaías Balbuena and Barrios de Bastian, who push up to provide crosses. The two strikers must combine in tight spaces to link up with Benjamín Crowe and allow the team to break quickly.

This formation offers several tactical advantages, particularly in terms of compactness when defending. By packing the central areas, Huracán makes it difficult for opponents to play through the lines. The team also benefits from the speed of transition, using the movement of Jonás Villegas and Milo Ibáñez to catch the opposition while they are pushed up. The defensive stability of the back five allows the wing backs to focus on attacking without leaving the center exposed.

The 5-3-2 formation provides Huracán with a resilient defensive base and a clear path to counter attack. This setup is best suited for games against teams that dominate possession and push many players forward.
