The midfield operates as a three man midfield with a carrier and a deep lying playmaker. McGregor sits in the pivot to shield the defense and recycle possession. He is joined by Engels and McCowan who occupy the half spaces. McCowan presses aggressively to win the ball high, while Engels drives forward with the ball to connect the lines. This trio works to control the center of the pitch and ensure the team can progress through the thirds.

Up front, the attacking trio uses inverted wingers and a central striker to stretch the defense. Maeda plays on the left and cuts inside to create chances, while Tounekti stays wide on the right to pull defenders out of position. Iheanacho acts as the main striker, looking to find the feet of the striker or make runs in behind the defense. The forwards press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition, allowing the Celtic midfield to intercept and break quickly.
