Slovan Liberec aims to control the game through defensive solidity and organized transitions in a 4-5-1. Stránský and Hlavatý form a double pivot to shield the defense, with Stránský often dropping deeper to pick up the ball. Masopust (C) operates as the central link, driving the ball forward and connecting the back line to the rest of the team. Hodouš and Soliu operate in the half spaces, tasked with pressing aggressively to win the ball high and making late runs into the box to support the attack.

Mašek leads the line as a lone striker, tasked with holding up the ball to allow the midfield to move up the pitch. He works to pin the last defender and create space for the attacking midfielders to arrive. The team looks to build play through quick combinations, often using the wide players to stretch the defense before playing through the lines. When the team wins possession, the goal is to hit in behind on the transition using the movement of Mašek and the late arrivals of Masopust (C) and Hodouš.

One major advantage is the numerical superiority in the middle of the park, which makes it difficult for opponents to play through the center. The team also finds success through its ability to press in a mid-block, forcing long balls that the central defenders can easily deal with. This setup allows for quick transitions where the midfield can instantly spread wide to exploit gaps left by the opposition.
