JOSEP guards the goal as the lone goalkeeper. The back three provides a solid base with BASTONI acting as the left centre-back, often stepping into midfield to help build play. DE VRIJ or AKANJI sits in the middle to win the header and provide cover, while AKANJI or BISSECK occupies the right centre-back slot to stay tight against runners. This defensive unit works to hold the line and protect the space behind them if the team presses high.

The midfield functions as a central engine room. BARELLA sits in the defensive midfield role to shield the defense and win the second ball. SUCIC and DUMFRIES operate as the central midfielders, with SUCIC looking to progress through the thirds while DUMFRIES uses his power to carry the ball forward. DIMARCO plays in an advanced role to connect the midfield and attack, often drifting wide to provide service. This group works to compress the midfield and deny the turn to opposing players.

Inter utilizes three attackers to pin the last defender. M.THURAM plays on the left wing and looks to cut inside to create chaos, while HENRIQUE operates on the right to provide width. LAUTARO or ESPOSITO leads the line as a pressing centre-forward to force a long ball from the opposition.
