Inter relies on a high press and quick transitions within a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup is built to dominate through intense ball winning and rapid vertical movements once possession is regained. The team looks to squeeze the space in the opposition half to force mistakes and play through the lines.

JOSEP starts in goal to organize the defensive unit. The back line operates with a high line, featuring BASTONI and AKANJI as the central defenders. BASTONI acts as a ball playing defender to help play out from the back, while AKANJI provides cover and strength in the air. DIMARCO acts as an attacking wing back, pushing high to provide width, while DUMFRIES plays as an attacking wing back on the opposite flank to overlap the winger. The unit works together to keep a compact shape and trigger a press when the ball enters their zone.

The midfield consists of a three-man midfield with a carrier at the base. BARELLA sits in the pivot to shield the defence and recycle possession. FRATTESI and SUCIC operate as the two more advanced midfielders. FRATTESI makes late runs into the box to provide a goal threat, while SUCIC works to connect the defensive and attacking lines by carrying the ball forward. This trio ensures the team can transition from a defensive block to an attacking stance by moving the ball quickly through the middle.

The attacking front line uses three attackers across the front. M.THURAM and HENRIQUE occupy the wide areas, with M.THURAM cutting inside from the left to create chaos. The team relies on LAUTARO or ESPOSITO as a pressing centre-forward to lead the hunt from the front. These attackers focus on making runs in behind the opposition defence and working in combinations to create chances. When the team wins the ball, they look to hit in behind on the transition to exploit space.

Inter creates significant advantages through its ability to press high in coordinated waves. The wide overloads created by DIMARCO and DUMFRIES allow the team to stretch the defence and create crossing opportunities. Additionally, the midfield trio can compress the midfield to deny the opponent time on the ball. This setup is designed to pin the last defender and isolate wide players in one on one situations.

This 4-3-3 formation focuses on aggressive ball winning and rapid verticality. Inter is best suited for games against teams that play a high line or struggle to move the ball out of their own half under pressure.
